Jurgen Klopp continues the recruitment drive at Liverpool and has agreed a fee for his latest target, Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutch midfielder looks set to join from Newcastle after the two clubs agreed a fee which could rise to £25m. Rafa Benitez's side are guaranteed £23m from the sale with an additional £1m add-on related to appearances.

The Championship side will receive a further £1m should Liverpool achieve specific targets.

Wijnaldum travelled to Newcastle's pre-season friendly against Doncaster on Wednesday night, but was given permission to speak to Liverpool after the asking price was reached.

The 25-year-old made 38 appearances for Newcastle since joining the club at the start of last season, but his 11 goals couldn't help them avoid the drop.

He joined from PSV Eindhoven for £14.5m after impressing former Newcastle boss Steve McLaren. He netted 41 times in 109 appearances for the club and helped the team to the Eredivisie title before swapping to the Premier League.

Joe Allen looks likely to be on his way out of the club as a result, with Stoke City the lead suitors for the Welshman.

He would become their fifth signing of the summer after Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Sadio Mane and Joel Matip.

Here's just a taster of what Liverpool fans can expect from the Dutchman.
