Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says Daniel Sturridge will "have to learn what is serious pain and what is only pain" as the striker recovers from yet another injury setback.

The England international was ruled out of last night's win over Bordeaux in the Europa League prior to kick-off and has only made three Premier League appearances this season due to injuries.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's match over Swansea on Sunday, Klopp said the Reds will have to stay patient with Sturridge, and that such injuries are a normal occurrence with players recovering for long-term injury.

"The situation is Daniel was very often injured in the last few months, and maybe years, so it is normal when you get back in training, usually it is not that quality [as before the injury]," said Klopp.

"Your body has to learn to adapt to new intensities of training and in this time you have to learn what is serious pain and what is only pain."
