Jurgen Klopp is obviously someone who believes that you should practice what you preach.

While his side is on their pre-season tour in the United States, training hard and working towards match fitness, he decided that he would give himself a bit of a run out too.

In a match between two teams made up of staff from Stanford and the Reds, Klopp gave himself the nod up front, leading the line and starting the gegenpress that he loves so much.

Keeping his glasses on him, Klopp did his best to get on the end of some set pieces and live off the supply from former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland U21 international Richie Partridge.

The game ended in a draw after the home side took the lead, but a little bit of confusion in the backline from a long ball got the better of the Stanford goalkeeper and defenders, with Klopp's side needing a large slice of luck (and a questionable refereeing decision) to avoid tasting defeat.

It's not the first interesting decision he's taken during the pre-season tour so far after he decided to give youth team goalkeeper Shamal George a run out up front against Huddersfield. That decision almost paid off for him too...
