Following in the wake of the All Ireland final on Sunday, this Tuesday we looked at what the future is shaping up to look like in the upper echelons of inter-county Gaelic football and how the growing gap between the stronger and weaker counties will be bridged.

Sports journalist Ewan MacKenna had crunched the numbers and former GAA president Sean Kelly MEP, who had been involved with GAA HQ just as processes to improve what was then a struggling Dublin GAA scene had begun.

The two joined us for a discussion about the issues of financing and redistribution of wealth within Gaelic football which you can read and listen to here.

So as we wrapped up the week with our 'Best of', Ger, Dave and Nathan revisited the issue and the complexities from both a sporting and societal perspective, including how pure economics means a drift of people towards the capital and away from other counties which also has a knock on effect on the GAA at a local level and how Dublin GAA have invested well within the county which has had a positive effect on their own fortunes.
