But at least the future looks bright, especially when you consider that a Les Bleus side featuring Paul Pogba, Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Kurt Zouma became World under-20 champions as recently as 2013.

Their under-19s hammered Italy in the UEFA European Championships final which took place in Germany to claim the trophy with a 4-0 scoreline and some impressive goals to boot:
