Charlton fans staged protests on Sunday as they took on Middlesborough at The Valley.

The target of their ire were Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet and chief executive Katrien Meire, and they decided to show their dissatisfaction by holding a mock funeral outside their ground for the soul of their club, similar to scenes witnessed outside Leeds' ground in recent weeks.

That sour mood continued inside the ground, where the fans brought a halt to proceedings after just a few seconds as they rained down beach balls on to the pitch. They chose black and white as the colours for both the beach balls and the scarves worn by fans to evoke a funereal mood.

Charlton went on to win the game against second place Middlesborough as goals from Jorge Teixeira and allum Harriott brough them the points.
