Biarritz and Bayonnais met in the ProD2 recently, and things were very heated right from the start.

Despite being in the second tier of French ruby, both sides are more than likely well known in Ireland for different reasons. Biarritz were one of the biggest teams in France not so long ago, while Bayonnais were the side that Ireland faced in the run up to the 2007 World Cup in a game that became famous for its brutality, and left its mark on Brian O'Driscoll.

There may well be a few players nursing similar injuries after this game too as, just 35 seconds in, players from both sides became involved in a massive brawl, with punches thrown.

The referee in this case decided that it might have been a bit too early to issue red cards, so he instead showed two yellows after discussion with his assistant on the sideline, and let the game get back underway.
