The future of football was seen on Tuesday night in the Stade de France, as Spain defeated France 2-0 in a friendly in Paris.

French striker Antoine Griezmann scored for the home side in the early stages of the second half, after slotting home an excellent cross from Christophe Jallet  and a header back from Layvin Kurzawa.

The Atletico Madrid striker ran off to celebrate the goal, but it was overruled within 40 seconds by referee Felix Zwayer. After viewing video replays, Griezmann was judged to have been partially offside.

Spain came out on the right side of another decision later in the second half, as Gerard Deulofeu's goal that was ruled offside, was eventually given less than a minute later, after replays showed he was in line with the French defence.

The Everton star, who is on loan at AC Milan made his debut in the game for the Spanish senior team, and impressed throughout, setting up the first goal for the 2010 World Champions after he was fouled in the box by Laurent Koscielny. David Silva scored the resulting penalty.

On both occasions, it took around 40 seconds to overrule both original decisions, proving the use of video replays should not slow down each game.
