As Conor McGregor continues to celebrate his Interim UFC Featherweight Title win over Chad Mendes at the weekend, news has emerged that the American was injured during their Las Vegas showdown.

Regular Off the Ball guest and MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani wrote that Mendes' manager Mike Roberts revealed his fighter found out about the injury yesterday morning.

It is not known yet whether Mendes will require surgery to repair his thumb.

The American's career is now at a crossroads, with his only losses coming to Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, the respective UFC Featherweight and Interim UFC Featherweight Champions.
