David Moyes was in Cagliari, reportedly to watch some of Juventus' midfielders. Some suggested that the Man United manager was scouting Arturo Vidal but the chances are the Chilean would not be interested in swapping Turin for Manchester.

Roma remain eight points behind the leaders and like Marchisio, it was a local lad that put his side in front.

Alessandro Florenzi's athletic bicycle kick got Roma in gear as they thrashed Genoa 4 - 0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Rafael Benitez' Napoli kept pace with a 3 - 0 win at high-flying Hellas Verona in a game which saw Dries Mertens score his third goal in two weeks.

But the biggest story of the night came at Sassuolo who were 2 - 0 down against Milan.

But thanks 19-year-old Domenico Berardi, they managed to win 4 - 3.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri was sacked this morning and if rumours are correct, the likes of Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi are in line to replace him.

La Liga

Pepe's header against Espanyol allowed Real Madrid to close the gap on both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to three points after the latter duo were involved in a goalless draw.

Celta Vigo's Charles also scored a great goal in a 2 - 1 over Valencia, who are arguably in the most important week of their recent history with a potential billionaire owner hovering in the background.

Ligue 1

PSG tightened their grip at the top with a 2 - 1 win at Ajaccio as Monaco dropped points in a draw with Montpellier...

Primeira Liga

Eusebio was definitely smiling down on Benfica as they beat bitter rivals Porto 2 - 0. And the smile would have been even wider thanks to the tribute from the Lisbon side...
