As predicted by critics, Birdman swept the Oscars with four wins, including Best Film and Best Director.
But Michael Keaton isn't the only actor with a bird on his back.
Caroll Spinney, who has played the role of Big Bird on Sesame Street since 1969, is the star of Big Birdman, a spoof released just before last night's ceremony.
In the short, complete with the original's distinctive tracking shots, Spinney's alter ego torments him with doubts about his career:
"How many different ways can you lean the alphabet? Lots, apparently. Maybe we should have done that Raymond Carver play. How did we get here. How do we get to Sesame Street?"
