Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for Sandra Bullock's upcoming sci-fi film Gravity, and it is intense. 

We're given a first person view of the Earth through an astronaut's helmet as Bullock's laboured breathing tells us something just isn't right. 

Slowly, the camera pans around to show the confusion on her face as she realises what went wrong. 

"Explorer, do you copy?" she asks desperately. Nobody answers. 

"Hueston, do you copy?" she repeats. Still nothing.

The eerie background music builds, and slowly the camera pulls back to reveal what is probably one of the most terrifying things a human being could ever experience. 

Sandra Bullock is lost.

In Gravity, Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, part of a crew who attempts to return to Earth after debris crashes into their space shuttle, leaving them drifing alone in orbit. 

The film will be released this October.
