Back at the dawn of the 1960s, anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela was involved in organizing a major stay-at-home strike for workers in South Africa.
Because of his role in organizing the strike which sparked a crackdown, the apartheid government issued a warrant for his arrest which forced the 42-year-old into hiding.
However, while he avoided the police, he did grant an interview to ITN reporter Brian Widlake in 1961.

It was his first TV interview, but it would also be his last before 27 years of imprisonment in 1962.
He remains seriously ill in hospital.
