Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek has lent his 90s’ TV star-power to a dark and very NSFW reboot of another 90s classic, the Power Rangers.

Joined by Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff, the fan-made short film below takes everything you thought you knew about the lycra-clad superheroes and turns it very dark.

Created by director Joseph Kahn, the short is described as: “...not a pilot, not a series, not for profit, strictly for exhibition. This is a bootleg experiment not affiliated or endorsed by Saban Entertainment or Lionsgate nor is it selling any product. I claim no rights to any of the characters (don't send me any money, not kickstarted, this film is free). This is the NSFW version.”

While a tamer cut of the final film appears on YouTube, the incredible violence and foul language of the original reads like a Tarantino take on the 1990s’ Japanese kids show. And certainly is a deviation from the original. Check out the film below:
