The World Cup hotels set to house England and Italy in Rio de Janeiro have been raided over unsafe food.

Over 50 kilos of food past its sell-by date was confiscated by Brazilian officials with the produce marked unfit for consumption.

Most of the confiscated food was found at Italy's team hotel and in any case England and most other teams had intended to bring their own food an cooks.
