Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently terrible at ping pong.

The action star-and-politician appears in Bud Light's Super Bowl advert, where he tackles the sport on screen.

While he might be able to juggle politics with movie stunts, it seems the Hollywood muscleman is lacking when it comes to table tennis.

“Arnold plays a ping pong player who challenges a guy who is on a fantasy night out,” a source explained to the New York Post's Page Six.

“They kept having to do re-takes as Arnold wasn’t very good at ping pong. He swings and he misses. He’s clearly better at barbells.”

The beer brand has teased Arnold's fans by releasing short clips of the commercial.

In the shots he can be seen in a blond wig and '70s-style sports outfit, even donning an elastic headband.

It's thought the final cut could run for as long as two minutes during the Super Bowl on February 2.

This would mean Budweiser is paying big bucks for the advertising slot, as a 30-second commercial costs $4 million for the big day.

The Bud Light clip was shot over two 16-hour days, with Jackass producer Jeff Tremaine directing the spot.

A wild club was specially created on the sixth floor of the 4 World Trade Center for the advert, which uses the slogan 'The Perfect Beer for Whatever Happens'.

It will feature a perplexed man being picked up for a crazy night out in a Hummer and meeting Arnold, Don Cheadle, DJ Reggie Watts and Minka Kelly along the way.

There's also thought to be a scene in a club filled exclusively with twins, with brothers Daniel and Derek Koch apparently featuring.

The commercial ends with Arnold being defeated at ping pong, before inviting the guy from the first scene into a wild party room.

It's thought that The Terminator star was paid $3 million for the deal.
