UEFA will hold meetings over two days next week to decide how to finish this season's European club competitions and the rescheduling of international games.

Last month, the Bundesliga in Germany became the first major league to resume while La Liga will get back to action this week with the Premier League and Serie A to follow next week.

In a statement, UEFA said that its executive committee would meet in a video conference on June 17th to discuss how to conclude this season's Champions League and Europa League as well as qualifying phase, play-offs and group stage for next season.

The Champions League final was originally scheduled to be played in Istanbul with the Europa League showpiece set for Gdansk in Poland.

However, last month UEFA said "a variety of options" were being looked at for completing the two competitions.

That could see the remaining stages of each competition in a single venue and reducing the quarter-final and semi-final ties to one leg instead of two.

The second legs of four Champions League last-16 ties still need to be played, while Atletico Madrid, PSG, Atalanta and RB Leipzig have already booked their place in the last eight.

In the Europa League, two round of 16 first leg ties still have to be played as well as all the second legs.

The meeting will also discuss the planned schedule and venues for Euro 2020, which has been pushed back a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Republic of Ireland were due to face Slovakia in Bratislava in March in a playoff but no new date has been set for the game to take place.

The 24-team competition will be held in the summer of 2021 across 12 cities across Europe, including the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The European governing body also stated that the meeting will look at rescheduling Nations League group stages and qualifying games for the European Under-21 Championship.

An online press conference, attended by UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin, is scheduled to take place after the first day of the UEFA Executive Committee.
