Union Cycliste Internationale chief Pat McQuaid has admitted it was a mistake to accept a cash donation from Lance Armstrong in 2002.
But the head of cycling's governing body insists the money was taken with good intentions.
Armstrong went on to lose all seven of his Tour de France titles for systematic drug use.

McQuaid is involved in a battle with the head of British cycling, Brian Cookson, to keep the UCI presidency.
Last month Off The Ball's Ger Gilroy interviewed McQuaid when the subject of donations came up.
