Tyrone scored three first half goals to brush aside the challenge of Derry in the Ulster championship quarter-finals.

It means Mickey Harte's side, who are one of the favourites for provincial glory, advance to a semi-final against the winner of the match between Cavan and Armagh.

Ronan O'Neill set Tyrone on their way early on with a goal, before the corner-forward popped up again to capitalise on a rebound after Sean Cavanagh had an effort saved.

Peter Harte added the third goal just before the break to leave the scores at 3-8 to 0-6 at half-time.

Derry could not get close to Tyrone throughout the match and their task was made harder with red cards for Ciaran McFaul and Chrissy McKeigue as Harte's side ran out 3-14 to 0-12 winners.
