Liverpool have agreed  to sign striker Christian Benteke from Premier League rivals Aston Villa for €49 million.

The 24-year-old Belgium international is now due to have a medical, with Liverpool’s club doctor set to return home from the team’s pre-season tour of Australia to conduct proceedings.

Manchester City completed their third signing this week with the capture of Patrick Roberts for a reported £11 million from Fulham.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest young players in England having impressed for the Championship club following his debut in 2014.

Reports in Germany suggesting Arsene Wenger will spend in excess of €43m to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubaeyang.

Sections of the German media claim the Gunners are preparing to spend big in order to land the Gabon international.

Aubameyang has been persistently linked to Arsenal, with Wenger thought to be a big fan.

It looks like being a case of fourth time lucky for Norwich City in their pursuit of Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady.
