Cyclist Ivan Basso has withdrawn from the Tour de France after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
The former Giro d'Italia winner is part of Alberto Contador's Tinkoff-Saxo squad.
He had complained about a pain in his groin which led to the discovery of cancer.

Basso will fly home to Italy immediately for treatment.
The 37-year-old has won the Giro d'Italia twice, in 2006 and 2010, but was also banned for two years on the back of the Operation Puerto doping scandal in Spain.
