Spurs have signed Toby Alderweireld for an undisclosed fee from Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract.
But the deal could still be subject to a legal challenge from Southampton, who claim that Madrid owe them £1.5M to cancel a clause in their loan deal that would allow them buy the defender for a set fee this summer.
The Belgium defender impressed while on loan at the Saints last season but was clearly keen on a move to White Hart Lane instead, where he will link up with international colleagues Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Dembele and Nacer Chadli:
What a day! Signed this morning & then seen these incredible new stadium designs. Can't wait to get started. #COYS pic.twitter.com/GBk2FRXuga
