Tottenham have moved up to third place in the Premier League table - at least - temporarily after a Gareth Bale inspired 2 - 1 win.

Gareth Bale scored both goals for Spurs either side of Yoan Gouffran strike for Newcastle.

Bale opened the scoring with a free-kick before Gouffran slotted in from inside the box.

But the Welsh winger showed fantastic pace to burst clear of Fabricio Coloccini on the break to grab the winner.
