Westmeath manager Tom Cribben has praised Dublin after they beat his side comprehensively at Croke Park on Sunday.

The All-Ireland champions ran out 4-29 to 0-10 winners and Cribben was quick to acknowledge Dublin's superiority.

"You need serious pace and mobility to take them on," he told Off the Ball's Dave McIntyre after the match. "You know, you don't win underage All-Ireland's and then you're going for three-in-a-row - they're a very special team.

The Westmeath boss insisted his side try and take the Dubs on instead of bringing 13 men behind the ball. "We didn't want to hold the score down today," he said, adding: "We wanted to see 'where are we?' you know?"

Looking ahead to the qualifiers, he said: "We're in it a round earlier this year. It'll be up to ourselves if we are able to lift our heads and if we're able to deal with this. Do we want to be remembered for that kind of a performance?"
