Stuart Byrne believes seeding could be introduced to the FAI Cup.

Analysing St Patrick's Athletic's win over Shamrock Rovers on Friday night, the former Shelbourne midfielder says he would have liked to have seen both teams meeting later in the competition. 

"I just wouldn't have these two teams, if I could help it, playing each other so early in the competition. I think there is scope to try and seed it. We've lost a big, big club now and it dramatically reduces the quality of the competition," he said. 

Stuey also felt another potential addition to the FAI Cup would be home and away semi-finals to drum up interest.
