Police arrested Jace early this morning on suspicion of murdering his wife in their Los Angeles home.
Officers went to the house after neighbours reported hearing the sound of gunshots.
They discovered April Jace, 40, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Michael Jace wsa present in the house at the time and was subsequently arrested there.
His wife was declared dead by paramedics at the scene. Reports say that investigators are not looking for any other suspects in the shooting.
The couple were married for nine years and have two children. Both boys were in the home at the time of the shooting.
Jace is best known for playing an LAPD officer in the TV series "The Shield". He has also appeared in many other movies such as Forrest Gump (1994), Clear and Present Danger (1994), Boogie Nights (1997) and Planet of the Apes (2001).
