Limerick banished Clare to the hurling qualifiers yesterday afternoon as they won the Munster Championship quarter final by 1-19 to 2-15 in Thurles.

Oisin Langan spoke to former Limerick defender Brian Geary after the game in the Semple Stadium press box and Geary was delighted to see his home side advance to the semi finals.

Both sides ended with 14 men as Patrick Donnellan was sent off for Clare before half time. Limerick evened out the number early in the second half when Seanie Tobin was sent off.

Geary called Tobin's red card "very harsh" claiming that the incident happens in "every match around the country".

Clare's 2013 All Ireland winning side was decimated by injuries, suspensions, along with travel commitments and Podge Collins playing for the football squad and Geary thinks that those missing stars helped Limerick win the game.
