Claudio Ranieri described Leicester City's defensive performance as "strange", after they conceded four first half goals at Old Trafford.

The Premier League champions were thumped 4-1 by a resurgent Manchester United side and looked stunned after conceding three goals in five minutes before the end of the first half.

"We are very solid from corners and freekicks, it is difficult to score against us," he told Sky Sports after the game. "But today was very strange for us.

"We started very well, in the first 20 minutes it was our match. We put them under pressure and we pressed very well. We tried to create some chances, but we lost it at the last pass.

"We were good and we started very well, but suddenly we switched off... The match was gone in the first half."
