Since Galway's hurlers have joined the Leinster Championship in 2009, they have failed to play a match on home soil.

That stat won't change this year as they prepare to face Offaly in their provincial semi-final in Portlaoise. Already, the Tribesmen have defeated Westmeath in Mullingar.

According to the Irish Independent, the Galway County Board may take their grievances to Croke Park in the aim of seeing some teams travel west to Pearse Stadium in Salthill. 

As is the case in most of the provincial championships, Galway have tried to enter into home-and-away arrangements with teams they have been drawn against, but both Westmeath and Offaly refused to be drawn into negotiations this year.

"Leinster counties don't want to have home-and-away arrangements with us, it seems. It's a pity but that's the way it is," Noel Treacy, the Galway County Board chairman admitted.

"We're either full members of the Leinster Championship or we're not", Treacy added.

Whether Galway get to play at home in 2017 or nor remains to be seen.
