Cunningham insists those players will demand more from themselves next time out having come up against the best, in the shape of Kilkenny.

There’s a three week break for the Connacht men who will play a Round 2 qualifier winner in the All Ireland quarter finals on July 26th. The manager has confirmed that the majority of his players will be released back to the clubs for fixtures next week which can prove to be a double edged sword.

It’s all coming together insists Cunningham, but in the same breath he outlines it’s a results based business and that’s how his tenure in charge will be judged.
