Cork's 10-time All Ireland winner, Valerie Mulcahy has announced her inter-county retirement.

The 33-year-old has confirmed that last month's All-Star game in San Diego was her final as a Cork representative after admitting that she no longer has the motivation needed to compete at senior level.

The talented forward says that she now intends to dedicate more of her time to promote the expansion of the Women’s Gaelic Players’ Association, of which she is an executive member.
