Olympic champion Katie Taylor has been announced as Ireland's flag bearer for the European Games opening ceremony in Baku, Azerbaijan tomorrow evening.

She will lead the team out at Baku's Olympic Stadium, when the ceremony begins at 5pm Irish time.

The Bray native, is one of 12 boxers on the Irish team for the inaugural games. She also received the same honour at the London Olympics in 2012 when she lead the team at the opening ceremony.

Taylor begins her quest for gold on June 21st, when the Women's Lightweight tournament begins.
