Sergio Aguero was one of the most startling omissions from the PFA Player of the Season nominations and that is something that is baffling ex-Ireland full-back Paddy Mulligan.

The former Chelsea and West Brom defender joined us on the Rewind podcast to look back at the weekend's action and look forward to the games to come.

Aguero scored a hat-trick as City outclassed Chelsea 3-0 on Saturday evening to make it 21 for the season, just one behind Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.

However, he has failed to be named on the six-man shortlist for the award which includes the English duo.

"Sergio Aguero is a wonderful, wonderful player. He's such a gifted finisher. I can't figure that one out for the life of me," said Paddy, adding that the shortlist should be decided after the end of the season.

"He's certainly the best striker in the league. There's no question about him and Vardy, but Aguero's done it over a few seasons and he keeps coming back to go and do it."
