Manchester United's under-pressure manager David Moyes faces another major test this evening as they prepare to travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg.
Ahead of the game, United have announced that veteran defender Rio Ferdinand is expected to be out of action for about two weeks with a knee injury that he suffered during last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Swansea.
He joins Robin Van Persie, Phil Jones, Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Young and Nani on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are hoping to welcome back former United defenders John O'Shea and Wes Brown to their starting side for tonight's game.
Kick-off is at 7:45.
