Sunderland have signed Italy international Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus.
The 28-year old utility midfielder joins Paolo Di Canio's squad on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. However he is believed to have cost about €7.5 million - a relatively bargain price.
A versatile player who can play out wide or in a more central role, Giaccherini has been capped 14 times and was a member of Italy's squads for Euro 2012 and the Confederations Cup.
