For the second week running, Munster have lost to Clermont - but they have also again salvaged a losing bonus point.

Ian Keatley's last-gasp penalty saw them pull to within seven points of the Top 14 side.

Duncan Casey scored the Irish side's only try, with Keatley converting. Keatley also kicked the rest of the team's points.

For Clermont, Damien Chouly broke through for two tries, with Noa Nakaitaci adding another.

Final score at the Stade Marcel Michelin was Clermont 26 - 19 Munster.

Munster's game away to Pool 1's second-placed side Saracens will be crucial now to their hopes of a quarter final spot.

Ulster, meanwhile, have suffered a 22-13 defeat at the hands of Scarlets.

It was a bleak first half for Ulster, as they headed into the changing rooms with no points to Scarlets' 12.

They emerged in better form, and a try from Darren Cave - converted by Ian Humphreys - finally put Neil Doak's team on the scoreboard.

Ulster managed to fight to within two points of Scarlets, but it was too late. A try from James Davies two minutes from time and a conversion by Rhys Priestland sealed the win, and denied Ulster a consolation point - a likely fatal blow to their quarter-final hopes.

Elsewhere, Wasps are just a point behind Leinster in Pool 2 following their 44-17 bonus point win at home to Castres.
