Manchester United kept their hopes of a top four finish alive with a comfortable win over Sunderland on Sunday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring with a beautifully curled effort from just outside the box on the half hour mark.

United's task became easier when Sebastian Larsson was red carded for a lunge at Ander Herrera.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan added a second just after half time and Marcus Rashford scored for the first time since September to cap a miserable game for struggling Sunderland.

Elsewhere, Everton overcame Leicester City in an entertaining encounter at Goodison Park.

Tom Davies opened the scoring after 30 seconds before Islam Slimani equalised three minutes later.

Marc Albrighton curled a free kick in six minutes later to give Leicester the lead.

Romelu Lukaku brought Everton level in the 23rd minute before Phil Jagielka gave the home side the lead when he headed in from a corner just before half time.

Lukaku sealed the victory with his second goal of the game in the second half.
