Stuart Pearce says he's turned down the chance to manage his former club Nottingham Forest.

The ex-England U21 coach has decided against taking the job because of family reasons.

The former Forest captain did tell Talksport that he had been tempted by the position: "There was an emotional pull because I had 12 great years at that club."

Championship club Forest are said to still be keen on Gianfranco Zola, Glenn Hoddle and Malky Mackay as successor to Billy Davies.

Former Sheffield United and QPR boss Neil Warnock turned down the vacant role on Monday.
