Team Ireland's Men's and Women's 49er crews are both in fifth place after the opening day of action in their events at Rio 2016.

Matt McGovern and Ryan Seaton finished second in today's action to solidify their place in the standings.

They finished in a time of 29:23, behind the New Zealand pair of Peter Burling and and Blair Tuke.

Saskia Tidey and Andrea Brewster finish third in Race 2 in a time of 31:44.
