Raheem Sterling's proposed exit from Liverpool took a another turn today.

Liverpool are refusing to comment on his absence but it has thrown further doubt over his future at the club.

The winger has reportedly told manager Brendan Rodgers that he does not want to be included in the Liverpool squad for their Tour of the Far East as he tries to persuade the club to allow him to leave for Manchester City, who have had bids rejected.

The 2014 champions are expected to return with an improved offer for the England international.
