Ex-Ireland winger Stephen Hunt believes Martin O'Neill deserves credit for his approach heading into the 1-0 win over Georgia.
The result puts Ireland in with a strong chance of securing a playoff spot and joining Off The Ball alongside ex-Boys in Green midfielder Alan McLoughlin to review the game.
"I think he went with the right decision and team and he obviously changed it at half-time and went with Shane [Long]. Now there's a case to play two guys up front then Wes can pick up more ball off them two than Robbie who's a little bit lightweight for it but a fox in the box," he said.
"I think Martin is still trying to get his strongest XI and I think the manager deserves credit tonight for being patient and picking the same team [from the Gibraltar game] and going from there."
McLoughlin assessed it as "job done but again there will be question marks" and also took a close look at Shane Long's performance as a second half sub.
