St Patricks Athletic's hopes of taking on Celtic in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers came to crashing halt as they suffered a 5 - 0 defeat to Legia Warsaw in Tallaght.
After picking up a creditable 1 - 1 draw in the first leg of the second round qualifier in Poland last week, Pats hoped to hold off Henning Berg's side in the return.
But a 24th minute strike from forward Miroslav Radovic cancelled out Christy Fagan's away goal from last week and from there on in, Legia pressed home their advantage in the second advantage.
Four goals from Michal Zyro, Radovic again, ex-Southampton striker Marek Saganowski and a Conan Byrne OG saw Pats exit the competition.
