The second series of matches in the SSE Airtricity League Premier and First Divisions takes place this week-end with matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday night there are five games down for the decision in the Premier Division including the first top of the table clash of the new campaign when leaders Drogheda United meet second place Bohemians at DalymountPark. Those two plus third place Sligo Rovers were the only teams to record victories over the opening weekend and are separated by goal difference at the top.

Sligo are away to Bray Wanderers and go into the game on the back of a 5-0 win over Crusaders in the second leg of their Setanta Sports Cup quarter-final last Monday.

Dundalk, bounced back from their surprise 4-1 defeat in the Co Louth derby against Drogheda, by beating Coleraine 2-0 in the Setanta Sports Cup on Monday night but face their bogey side from last season Limerick at Oriel Park. Limerick took seven points out of nine from the three league meetings in 2013.

Champions St Patrick’s Athletic also negotiated their passage into the Setanta Sports Cup semi-finals at the expense of Ballinamallard United and they have home advantage against UCD while Premier Division football will be played for the first time at Athlone Town Stadium when the last year’s First Division champions meet Shamrock Rovers.

In the First Division, newcomers Galway travel to Waterford while Wexford Youths host Cobh Ramblers.

The action continues on Saturday night when LongfordTown and Shelbourne, two of the teams expected to battle it out for the First Division title and automatic promotion, meet at City Calling Stadium.

On Sunday the TV cameras will be at Brandywell Stadium for Roddy Collins’ first home game in charge of DerryCity as they face CorkCity while in the First Division Shamrock Rovers play Finn Harps.
