19 year-old Jordan Spieth has become the youngest winner on the PGA tour in 82 years.

He overcame defending champion Zach Johnson and Canadian David Hearne in a playoff to win the John Deere Classic in Illinois last night.

The win earns him a place at this week's Open Championship at Muirfield.

Phil Mickelson's preparations for that tournament went well as he won the Scottish Open.

The World Number 5 defeated Branden Grace in a tie-break after they both finished on 17 under.
