Southampton have confirmed that Irish international Shane Long is facing a minimum two-week lay-off with an ankle ligament injury.
The striker could be out of action for a month as a result of the knock that he suffered during Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifier loss to Poland on Sunday.
With the first leg of Ireland's play-off tie set to take place in the second week of November, Long should return just in time to be involved in the two-leg tie.
