Sire de Grugy has won the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

The 11/4 favourite pulled away from the field approaching the last and won by six lengths for jockey Jamie Moore and his father Gary, the trainer.

Somersby finished second ahead of Module, but it was a disappointing race for the Irish challengers as the likes of Special Tiara, Sizing Europe and Arvika Ligeonniere all failed to mount a challenge.

In the day's earlier races, Faugheen took the Novices Hurdle, O'Faolain's Boy narrowly won the Champion Hurdle and Whisper was the victor in the Coral Cup in a photo-finish.
