Henry Shefflin announced his return to the Kilkenny side with 13 points in today’s Walsh Cup semi-final win over Galway in Freshford.
The 9 time All-Ireland winner joined a half-forward line of Colin Fennelly and Eoin Larkin and scored 12 frees and 1 from play to lead Kilkenny to a 1-24 to 0-15 win over Galway.
The Cats will face the Leinster champions in the final as Dublin remain on course to retain the Walsh Cup. The Dubs beat Wexford by a single point in Gorey this afternoon. Anthony Daly’s side were 1-15 to 1-14 winners, with Paul Ryan contributing 1-7.
Meanwhile, Clare are through to the Waterford Crystal Cup Final following their 2-28 to 1-4 win over UCC at Sixmilebridge.
The other semi final between Tipperary and University of Limerick was postponed, due to the pitch being unplayable in Nenagh.
In football, Kildare have won their second O'Byrne Cup title in a row thanks to a 1-10 to 9 points win over Meath in Newbridge this afternoon.
Leitrim have retained the FBD League. They got past the challenge of Roscommon by 2-05 to 1-07 in Carrick-on-Shannon, to win their second title in a row.
