Sharknado, a low budget, made-for-TV flick starring Jedward BFF Tara Reid has become a major talking point on Twitter after it premiered in the US last night.
The premise reads: "When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature’s deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorise the waterlogged populace."
This has to be seen to be believed:
The ridiculous flick aired on Syfy, a channel infamous for airing similarly absurd TV movies like Arachnoquake and Sharktopus. #Sharknado was the top trending term on Twitter during and after the premiere; some celebrities even decided to watch the craziness unfold:

Putting aside the hype, is Sharknado any good? HitFix.com said: "It gave us exactly what we wanted: something unapologetically dumb and cheap and outrageous to laugh at (and, occasionally, with) for a couple of hours on a slow summer Thursday night."
The Hollywood Gossip agreed. "For all it's faults, and there are many, I actually enjoyed Sharknado. I don't really know how as it quite possibly was the dumbest thing I have ever watched, but I did."
It's unknown whether the movie will air on the UK version of the Syfy channel, currently available in Ireland on Sky channel 114.
