Ireland striker Shane Long appears to be on the verge of a transfer to Southampton.

Saints have bid £12 million for the Hull City forwards as they look to strengthen after an exodus of key players during the current transfer window. 

Long joined Hull on a three-year deal in January, having left West Brom.   

He has scored four league goals in 15 appearances for the Tigers.
