Shane Dowling believes Galway have a "team for the future" despite exiting the All-Ireland hurling championship at the semi-final stage.

Micheal Donoghue's side were knocked out by Tipperary on Sunday but Limerick hurler Dowling is confident that they will bounce back stronger.

"I think that the abuse they got earlier on in the year definitely drove them on a bit. The manager mightn't have said it, the players mightn't have brought it up but within the four walls of the dressing room, I think that definitely would've played a part," he told Off The Ball.

"They've found new players new players as well as the players that have been there for a number of years. They seem to have a very balanced side. They seem to have a team for the future. They know that the consistency they've wanted to have, they've brought that this year and with the new players that they have found as well, definitely there's a future going forward for Galway."
